Anna Yoga The old saying "you are what you eat" has particular significance in Ayurveda. In the Ayurvedic art of cooking, great emphasis is given to the preparation of food which is tasty, satisfying and energy-giving. "Sattvic" (pure) food, that which can be easily transformed into life energy or "Ojas", is of prime importance and it is recommended that all six tastes, namely sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent and astringent, be included in the daily diet plan to ensure that all required nutrients are present.
